Crippling anxiety with comorbid depression have dominated my life since my teen years. I've been through a handful of Dr recommended SSRI's (Serzone, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor) with little success in treating anxiety. Only recently (2008) did I become vigilant in my own treatment and found Dr support in the use of Nardil (a MAOI). I am currently taking 90mg of Nardil and it has been very effective in controlling my anxiety issues. Atypical depression, Social Anxiety with comorbid depression

I finally got in to see a good Psychiatrist (May 13, 2009) who has been using MAOIs for decades. He is willing to raise Nardil past maximum dose range, if needed, and is completely open to augmentation of all kinds to cover gaps in treatment. He has increased my Temazepam for sleep and added Ativan for daily anxiety. He knows the usefullness of MAOIs combined with Benzodiazepines for treatment of anxiety disorders. Perhaps now I will overcome some setbacks and make strides to begin my life again. All is going in the right direction so far.
