About Me Hi, my name is Harold. I was dx in 1983. I've been living with ALS for more than 1/2 of my life. I was 23 when dx. It was hard to hear, but life must go on. I've done nothing special, as far as treatments, to have lived soooo long. Though, I've done alot of praying. I have taken a regiment of vitamins everyday since I was dx. Also, I've had PT at least once a week. PALS, I can't express enough how important it is to get PT!!! It keeps you limber and is helpful later in time. It really helps you, your family and your caregivers. Speaking of caregivers, PALS, remember they are there for you. Treat them with respect and they will never let you down. Most of all, try and keep a positive attitude . Even though your body is changing, keep your mind positive. Like my brother always tells me, "Don't sweat the small stuff"... LOL. My motto is take each day at a time and enjoy life . God Bless... |
