I was first told in Dec. of 1995 that I had ALS. Was not confirmed until 2001. I was a toll collector on the Pa. turnpike. I had to go on disablity retirement as of Aug. 24, 2009 because of the loss of the use of my thumbs. Still walk with a walker, and do for myself. This photo was at my wife’s birthday party last year. It is my wife (Sharon) my grandson (Jake) and me in the front row. Back row is my mother (Catherine) my oldest daughter Julianne (jakes mom) and my youngest daughter Kim. They are my life and they are my helpers too. Only with family can we survive.
