- Diagnosed Aug 2008. My HIV was contracted by IV drug use. I am CHEM FREE since 01 June 2009 - feels great. I don't wrestle with my disease much anymore. I am not apathetic as much as I just don't think about it these days. I keep busy with my consulting job, which takes me to China often. I love Asia and lived there for more than 9 years. I have two homes now (here in MN and I have an apartment in Shanghai). Been sick with intussusceptum and in the hospital this September 09. Better now and need to be careful what I eat.
