I have been married to my husband for 30 years. At the age of 44, he was found to have LOVA (longstanding overt ventriculomegaly in adults). Basically, he has had hydrocephalus all his life. It was never diagnosed at birth. After many years of this extra pressure on his brain, he began to show symptoms making it hard for him to do his job. His symptoms included gait disturbance, memory loss, sleep issues, problems climbing and descending stairs, and much more. He has had 5 different shunt surgeries and now is on disability.
