I made it to the 8 year mark with ALS. I've entered into this new phase of my life as an ALS PALS. My wife of 24 years of marital bliss and I learned that ALS doesn't just affect one single person, but the entire family and close friends. Our two wonderful teenage children are ages 20 and 17 have matured fast and are very supportive (yes they're wonderful).
