About Me I'm a former Air Force public affairs officer who was diagnosed bipolar in 2000. Now, I'm on permanent disability, but I'm much happier and comfortable with myself for it. I teach expressive writing as a recovery tool to mentally ill veterans at my local Ann Arbor VA Hospital. I encourage everyone to be open about your illness. It's the only way to truly heal.
