- I have been fighting AIDS since 1995 and almost died from 3 infections. However they started me on protease inhibitors and the cocktail. And within months my health was rebounding. Now I am on disability from AIDS diagnoses in '95. And then certified disability for my Bipolar Disorder ll. Currently I am symptom free from both of my disabilities. I am also clean and sober for 1 year and a half, which has improved my health and symptoms dramatically.
