This is very difficult for me to do. I don't think I've ever really acknowledged the diagnosis. I had a very difficult time walking and finally used a wheelchair but always tried to defuse the awkward looks from others with humor. At the time of my diagnosis, my husband was battling cancer (he finally lost in 2003) and we were raising three kids. I didn't take time to mourn my own loss of independence. I currently am in remission and, with the exception of fatigue, I'm doing very well. I walk, swim, volunteer and take care of my 90 year old father. I stay as positive as I can. :-D
