- My name is Aaron, and I guess diagnosis did not really affect me much, took it in stride and immediately went to work volunteering for HIV/AIDS issues. After a five year stint as a full time volunteer, I slowed down, and am taking some me and family time. I am finding it is harder now after volunteering and being such a public voice and face in that I live in a small community and the knowledge of my status is far reached, it does create quite a bit of prejudice, but also makes one appreciate their true friends all the more.
