I saw a tremor in my left thumb and immediately knew I had Parkinson's. I have seen it before as I am a speech-language pathologist. i went to the doctor and they thought I was crazy. I went to my psychiatrist and he said I had Parkinson's. Finally, I saw a neurologist to have the diagnosis confirmed. i am 65 and work part time with young children. I'm married and have one grandson who is 18. I have only told four people that I have PD. I know i would lose my job if anyone found out because of liability insurance. I can feel my brain changing cell-by-cell.
A MAJOR ROADBLOCK. NOW 3 out of 4 of my doctors have said they don 't know what is wrong with me. They keep referring me to another neurologist. No one cares about my pain. I haveno desir to take narcotics as I suffer from narcolepsy - BIG TIME ! This is something I have done to my own clients. When I cannot "fix" them I have said go to the _____ . How deserted my parents of autistic children must feel. Just like I do adrift and feeling my skills failing me more each day. At least I have my trusted psychiatrist to call on. Any good ideas ?? yes, i did go to motor movement clinic one of the best. I AM IN BIG TROUBLE. HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ACCEPTED TO TAI CHI ---LIABILITY I MIGHT GET HURT. WELL A BROKEN ARM CAN BE FIXED BUT NOT A BROKEN SPIRIT !!
