One morning, I woke up as a single, 60-year old (how did THAT happen?) mother of 2, grandmother of one. I was a technical writer for an oilfield services company. I recently moved back to Austin... it's good to be HOME!!!
One morning, I woke up as a single, 60-year old (how did THAT happen?) I have PD... so did my father.
I have never had a tremor. My symptoms are less obvious unless I'm really tired -- and then my balance is off and my speech is soft and often hard to understand. I have trouble writing (thank God for laptops) and some days stirring and cutting can be challenging, but I do ok thanks to a wonderful neurologist!
A recent complication (neuropathy) became apparent after I took Azilect and so we are currently trying to tame... yet another inconvenience!
I have 2 children... Bryan, 36 is an HVAC tech, a skill he learned in the USAF, and lives in Austin with his wife (Chaunte) and the love of my life, my nearly 13 year old grandson (Christopher).
My daughter, Caryn, 32 is a center manager for a FedexKinko's and also lives in Austin.
My days & nights are shared with a gentle giant of a dog (Roy), and 2 cats (Sassy & Sabrina) until I had a melt-down and added another dog to the family... Roy now has a sister named Jazzy!
And then there was the HUGE Senior Moment when I recently bought a convertible, but what the heck... you only go around once!
Now, I am in the nerve-wrackimg process of trying to sell my house and building a new one. Life is never dull!
