- I am an award-winning journalist who had spent 17 years in the broadcasting field before MS forced me to abandon that career in 1999. I lived in Memphis with my wife, Melinda, but moved back to my home state of Iowa after she passed away in 2006. I have written a book on my experience and the death of my wife and am currently seeking an agent. Meanwhile I have started a second memoir dealing with MS and being able to walk again after taking Tysabri.
