Diagnosis Summary
|
About Me I have the familial form of ALS and I am the 7th person in my family to be diagnosed. I am still able to use a walker for a short distance, but mostly use a wheelchair. I'm losing use of my hands and have some arm weakness, but I am still able to talk and swallow. In the beginning I was in an ALS support group. I have been to the ALS Clinic in Houston, TX, per Dr. Stanley Appel, for two years. I am now on Hospice. I am proudest of the fact that I have been involved with Jerry Lewis' telethon every two years for the last 7 years. |
