- My name is Kirk. I live with my wonderful wife of 45yrs who takes care of me. We have 2 children (twins) and 5 grandchildren all of whom live in this area. The cold winters kill me, but we can't tear ourselves away from our home town. In 2004 we had to move out of the home we built, and into a one-story house in town to accomodate this damned disease, and keep having to make additional adjustments. We were able to do a little traveling from '99 to '02 before it got too bad. I was in management until forced onto disability by depression in '98. Diagnosis changed 6/25/09 from PLS to ALS.
