My condition has been upgraded to secondary progressive MS in 2008. In 2005 trigeminal neuralgia was a new relapse which lasted a little over a year. I signed up for cyberknife surgery at my doctor's recommendation. That was given on July 28,2006. Gradually, my nerves healed and by January 2007 I no longer needed pain meds. My only side effect was a bit of facial numbness on the left side that has continued up to this point.
On Jan. 11, 2011 I was reaching for a ripe banana, standing on tiptoe, lost my balance and fell. My husband heard me fall and asked if he could help. He brought me a chair because when I tried to stand it hurt. Some swelling resulted, I figured that I had sprained my ankle. We iced it later on, then Roger decided we would go get an x-ray at the Immediate Care Clinic in Yreka which is about 75 milles away, the next day. Dr. Solus came out to the car to check it out then said to come in (wheelchair) to get x-ray.
That showed I had fractured my left tibia and fibula. He referred me to Ashland Orthopedic Assoc. My appointment would be Tues. Dr. Knoblick saw me and said he could do an out-patient surgery the next day and I would not have to be admitted for a stay. He gave me a steel plate and screw to mend my bones. It took an hour. I will return on the 31st to have a cast put on it. He said that I will not have a walking cast because I should not put my weight on it for 4 more weeks.
