As an adolescent, I had fatigue, cognitive problems, pain. I finally got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and migraine at age 42, but felt that there were still unexplained symptoms. At age 60, I received further diagnoses of epilepsy and MS. Four years later, the MS was replaced with cerebral cavernous malformation and severe sleep apnea. I have four grown children and six grandchildren whom I adore, but now I worry about what wonky neurological genes I may have passed along.
