I absolutely LOVE the outdoors, and doing anything outside. I used to water ski, snow ski, hike, garden, and do all of my yardwork. I am now unable to even putz in the yard, as my arms, legs, trunk, and neck are greatly weakened. I was fortunate to have my brother living with me during the week for 2 years, but am now trying to keep full-time caregiving help.
I am on a disability retirement from the USDA Forest Service after a 30+ year career. Although the diagnosis of this hideous disease has certainly impacted my lifestyle, I now try to focus on what I CAN do instead of what I cannot.
