About Me: I have had episodes of depression since I was 16, but never took medication until my 1st pregnancy, 7 years ago. Prozac helped me feel like myself again and get through that pregnancy, as well as the subsequent years (during which I had another child). Early last year, when I reported mood swings and irritability, my doctor prescribed medications for bipolar disorder. I was on an emotional roller-coaster for about 6 months. My therapist and new doctor agreed that depression was the correct diagnosis and put me back on Prozac. I have been stable and happy ever since, with fewer ups and downs.
