Have suffered with Fibromyalgia for 26 years. Most days are high pain days.
In addition to having a family history of Fibromyalgia, when I was 14 I fell 3 storeys off the side of my school building and had an fire escape cage smash into my back. My son was apprehended by child welfare on the 19th of January 2011. I was supposed to get him back on the 30th of January 2012, but now because of my fibromyalgia they are not giving him back. I believe this is a case of discrimination. Ive had fibro since I was 14, Im now 38 and they think I can't take care of my son because of my disability. My case worker even said it point blank to me. I said it feels like Im being discriminated over a disease I can't control, nor did I choose, and certainly more than I want. She said thats exactly the reason why. My son has been in custody for 2 1/2 years now. I still have 2 hour supervised visitation on Mondays unless its a stat. Then I have to wait for the next Mon.
