I am a 58 year old retired teacher. I first noticed my symptoms in 2009 when my left thumb began to have tremors. I also noticed I could no longer separate papers with my left hand when handing back papers in the classroom. A colleague commented that I was walking stiff with little left arm movement. I was diagnosed in June of 2010 and I started medication about two months ago. I have mixed reactions as far as the efficiency of the medication. I do yoga twice a week to help with flexibility and so far I am managing well but I do worry about the future and what this disease may bring.
