I'm the youngest (53) of four brothers. My beloved oldest (67) brother, Lee, was diagnosed with ALS in May 2009. It's been frustrating, wanting to help him as much as possible, because he is living in Japan and has been since '91. About a year ago (2010) we started to Skype each other, but I wanted more contact. So I visited him and his wife for a week in July 2011. Although I felt moments of heartbreak, we renewed our bond as brothers. He was wheelchair-bound, but had use of both hands. Now, ~8 months later, he's close to being a quadplegic, but still is more alive than most people.
