6 years post transplant. Kidney and Pancreas. Was a diabetic prior to transplant for 26 years. Now non diabetic and insulin free. Many complications, still unable to work, leg damage during transplant surgery. Nerve damage. Medications expensive and have had many issues with getting them. I am very thankful to the man who was an organ donor because had his life not been taken and he was not a donor I would not be here today. I am so thankful. But life has never been the same since my transplant. I was also thankful to not have to be on dialysis before my transplant. I waited 3 years on list.
