I have young onset Parkinson’s disease. I was diagnosed when I was 36 years old. I had several telling symptoms like small handwriting, slowed movements, soft voice but the worst were loss of balance and falling. My problems with walking started with a shuffle which progressed to freezing. I fell so much that I lost complete confidence in walking. I have discovered a simple way to walk again which helped me deal with freezing and falling. It involves standing on one foot and swinging the other foot. It gave me back my confidence.
