Updated April 2010. I am now a 56 year-old MD (Family Doc) who noticed symptoms in my right hand in May 2004, quickly saw a neurologist and had tests and an MRI, and diagnosed myself with ALS by the end of the month. I worked for 2 years then retired. I am now on Hospice.
