I have four children they are 17,14,12,10. I have a Boyfriend, his name is Brian and he has 2 children. We just started our relationship September 2006 he is the best Man I have ever been with.
I like to garden, hang out with close friends and I love to cook.
On or about 1 year ago I noticed I was walking with a limp and dragging my left leg. What really got my attention was I was stubbing my big toe, It hurt like hell. My lower back was hurting like normal, but I decided to go to my Doctor to tell her about the pain in my back hoping that, that was the reason for my leg dragging. She ordered a MRI of my lower Lumbar Spine.
The results came in and the really wasn't much wrong with my back to be causing weakness in my leg. I then was sent to physical therapy to help gain strength in my back. My physical therapist who is a godsend told me she wanted me to see an Orthopedic Specialist. He then gave my many different PT exercises. I also had nerve testing done on my leg and he tells me. There is nothing wrong with your leg and "I think you fell and you have babied your leg and you need to teach yourself how to walk again.
Thank goodness, my Physical Therapist told me I think you need to go see a neurologist. She wouldn't tell me what she thought was wrong, but told me I really need to make an appointment. Before Thanksgiving, I tried to stop smoking and I took the medication called Chantix. I then developed Bells Palsy. I had the drop face, blurred and double vision, my gait was off and when I brushed my teeth, it felt as if I was using a wire brush.
I drove myself to the emergency room and was diagnosed with Bells Palsy. The emergency room Doctor set me an appointment with a neurologist. He did several tests then diagnosed with MS. I was heartbroken, and then I was angry. I was on the Internet looking at all the things that could happen to my body and all I could think of was what was going to happen with my kids. I met a new guy and he is wonderful, I then was thinking how is he going to deal with it. I had a lot of what ifs going on in my mind.
I then started talking to many people and they told me it really isn't as bad as you think. There are many new drugs out there, so be positive. I then told my Boyfriend what was going on and he is supportive.
