- I have an interesting condition that has caused disagreement with my doctors. Two things are certain, I have a motor neuron disease and non-small-cell lung cancer. My MND symptoms began with severe leg cramping in 2005. By June 2006 I began having foot/walking problems and by October noticed leg weakness climbing stairs. A year later I was using a cane followed by two canes the next year. In April 2007 an exploratory chest CT scan was done that revealed growths in my lungs.
