I had a kidney/pancreas transplant in May 1991 after being on the list for just over one week. I passed my 20 year anniversary in May 2011. My kidney failed in September. I am currently back on dialysis. I have also been relisted. Two brothers and a nephew of mine are also being tested to be donors. I'm praying for a quick match to be found. I still am grateful for my "second life". If you are waiting for your first transplant, you may be scared, but in the end it is worth it all.
