What is Zyloprim?

Zyloprim® is a brand name for allopurinol, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that is used to prevent gouty arthritis, nephropathy (kidney damage) and kidney stones; and to treat secondary hyperuricemia (elevated blood levels of uric acid).
