Dyskinesia refers to involuntary movements, similar to a tic or chorea. When it occurs after treatment with certain drugs, such as antipsychotics, it is called tardive dyskinesia. Dyskinesia seen in Parkinson’s disease is usually a side effect of dopaminergic drugs at higher doses.
