What is Epidural Steroid Injection?

Epidural Steroid Injection is an injection of long lasting steroid in the space that surrounds the spinal cord and the nerves coming out of it. The injection consists of a mixture of local anesthetic and the steroid medication and is used to reduce inflammation, swelling and pain.
