What is Capsaicin topical?

Capsaicin is a topical analgesic used in the treatment of pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, diabetic neuropathy; postsurgical pain. Off label it is used for pain associated with psoriasis, chronic neuralgias and intractable pruritis (itching).
