What is Metronidazole?

Metronidazole is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent used to treat susceptible bacterial and protozoal infections; as part of a multidrug regimen for H.pylori eradication to reduce risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence; topically it is used to treat rosacea. Off label it is used for Crohn's disease.
