What is Fludrocortisone?

Fludrocortisone is a synthetic corticosteroid. It is used primarily to replace the missing hormone aldosterone in various forms of adrenal insufficiency such as Addison's disease and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. It is the first line of treatment for orthostatic intolerance.
