What is Butchers broom?

Butcher's broom or Ruscus aculeatus has been used for 2000 years, it was noted as a laxative, diuretic, and a phlebotherapeutic agent. Early investigations during the 1950s indicated that extracts of butcher's broom could induce vasoconstriction.
