More About rich.t
I serendipitously stumbled into PatientsLikeMe in the spring of 2007. The day I received an offer to work here, the documentary So Much, So Fast aired on PBS. Watching Stephen's story turned an already-compelling opportunity into a no-brainer. The rest is history, well spent - I get to do work that I truly believe is important. Being part of an effort to improve patients' lives and (hopefully) change the way healthcare gets done has been exciting and satisfying. As has working with a slick little programming language and framework - Ruby on Rails - and a terrific team of funny, talented people.
Outside of work, I spend far too much time reading blogs and thinking about software. I'm also a sports nut who, as a New England transplant, has become a card-carrying member of Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics nation. Once upon a time I played a lot of basketball but these days I'm mostly running, with hopes of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. And [to the dismay of those who have to sit near me at the office] I like to make puns. A lot of them. So many, it's not even punny.
I live with my superstar wife, Susanna, my thunderous little boy, Wes, and my voracious baby girl, Annalise. They rock.
