My Husband (The light of my life) of 31 years was DX. with ALS in Aug. 2003
He was only 44 at the time of DX. & Feb. 2005 he was Vented & Peged.. This illness is a Nightmare!!!! Hes A Quad now & can't speak due to his trach, Its been so hard on him, My heart is breaking in little bits every day :o(
We had never heard of ALS be fore his first symptoms started.
Weak hands & tired alot then the stumbleing & falling & voice & breathing etc..
I have been caring for him at home on a vent since march 2005.
Sometimes I feel I am the only one in the world that knows about ALS & what it can do & how it can tear you up.
