- I am Stuart's older sister and Stuart who was diagnosed with ALS, July, 2001, lives with me. He had bulbar onset and is now bedbound, on a ventilator, with foley catheter. I am a happy, energic 52 year old who finds great solace and support from my rescued English Springer Spaniels... Bentley and Hudson. I have researched the care of an ALS patient since 2001 and have learned a great deal which I hope to be able to share on this website. I have been very successful with Stuart and his care.
