My husband began having symptoms of PD about 9 years ago, and was diagnosed about 4 years ago. He's now 83 and moderately active. He walks with the typical PD shuffle, posture stooped forward, and balance is sometimes a problem. His speech is soft and, though he's alert and able to converse, words elude him or come out wrong (often but not always). Shrugging into a sweater is difficult and buttons an every day obstacle. He sleeps alot, and I wonder if it's partly because of his meds. Amantadine, Stalevo and the Exelon patch.
(& meds for high blood pressure, and CA prostate, both under control
