About Me
|
Well, it is now April 13th, Jim has been on Lithium for 2.5 weeks, ALS continues it's relentless march, his right arm, unaffected at the onset, is now beginning to have fasciculations, his left leg is increasingly weaker. However, I do think that his swallowing is somewhat improved on Lithium. It seems that he chokes a bit less on thin liquids now. Who ever thought that less choking would be good news? I have also modified his diet, and at the date of diagnosis he weighted 180-ish, I am happy to report that today he weighs 192.5, and holding. I am completely engulfed in ALS advocacy, I have send mass emails regarding the ALS registry act, with literally hundreds of people forwarding me the response they have received from their sentaors and representatives. I am currently on a campain to get access to IPLEX for ALS patients in America, with the same email/media blitz. The rest of my day is spent caring for my family, trying to enjoy what we have while we have it, and living one day at a time....
