I was having sever breathing problem so I went to VA Akron and they sent me to Akron General Medical Center.
They put me in a coma and put me on a ventilator for 16 days.
I was then transferred to VA Cleveland and placed in IICU for 32 days and transferred to University Park Care Center on March 5th. I went there for therapy for my weakened body and to get me walking again. During my time there I had to go to the Emergency Room 5 times for sever respiratory distress. I staying over night 4 out of the 5. On May 19th I decided to move to Manor Care - Akron.
I have improved on both Occupational and Physical Therapy but still can't walk unassisted. I walked 15 feet with a walker and my %O2 didn't go below 80%.

On January 23, 2012. I was hospitalized for pneumonia & other related breathing problems. I'm now in a rehab facility. They are now denying service because my SpO2 levels drop too quickly, and take several minutes to recover. They haven't tried to see how much that cam be accomplished within the prescribed guidelines.
I meet with my VA pulminologst yesterday. She said that the disease was progress faster than anticipated. And I should consider transplant surgery. The VA started the proceed to get the lung transplant. Now I am forced to fight with the rehab facility, who say they can't do any more rehab because of insurance restrictions. -
