More About Lassie
I love animals! I have a very large 11 1/2 year old dog, a "Neardie" (German Wire-Haired Pointer and Bearded Collie). She is my constant and loving companion and my best friend. If it weren't for her, I don't think I'd get out of bed or go outside but she "asks" that I get up and go out with her. Since we both walk at about the same pace now and neither of us can go very far we make a good couple!
I am raising guppies, beta's, Mystery snails and Ramshorn snails - partly to occupy some of my time and partly to get a little pocket money (Social Security does't pay enough for any extras in my life). I also have lots of house plants.
I don't work anymore, primarily due to a work related injury 16 years ago but I have enough to keep me busy so I'm never really bored.
I knit and crochet and do counted cross-stitch but find them to be getting more and more difficult to do as time goes by but I still do them.
I live in a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. I have an electric wheelchair I use if I am going someplace where I would have to walk a lot and can get to by bus. I have my father's old wheelchair that will fit in a car, also his walker, cane and commode.
I've been able to trace my Parkinson's back to my late 20's/early 30's - looking at it in hind sight. Fortunately, I seem to have a mild type so far and can still take care of myself without trouble. I need help cleaning but can't afford it and can't get any help to pay for it so my place is a bit of a mess.
That's me in a nutshell!
