About caroljposner

Lost function of my kidneys at 20, from strep infection. Received a miracle cadaveric transplant after being on dialysis a month, March 1975. Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, author of "Ordinary Patriot" & "All Trial By Fire, A Woman's Journey" which chronicals my story of kidney failure & transplant while simultaneously going through the most horrific domestic violence. I work at Lawndale Christian Church & do everything-finance to helping the homeless. After almost 37 years post tranplant I'm experiencing some fluctuation in my blood chemistry but I can't complain. I'm blessed!

As a transplant patient, I am a dinosaur. Some of the questions they ask transplant patients I can't even answer, like what was your doasage when you first got your transplant? Who remembers after 36 years? What kind of web helps or DVDs did you get to explain your transplant experience after your transplant? (Well.. nothing. They didn't have personal computers or DVDs yet) Smile I finally had the courage to write my second book, All Trial By Fire; my story of going through domestic violence similtaneously with kidney failure and transplant. It was tough to write but I feel great about it.
