- I find that the neurontin does the best job in dealing with my NERVE pain. Narcotics just don't cut it with that. My doctor even told me that narcotics are ineffective with nerve pain. I can live with the mild side effects I get just for the benefit of having it help my nerve pain to my legs so much!! I can get out of bed, run errands with my husband, play a more active role in society.
