I have a lovely wife of 22 years, 3 teenage boys, my oldest turned 18 in Feb. 2010. I celebrated my 50th birthday in April 2010...about 9 days later my Neurologist told me my leg and hand weakness were ALS. October 2009 was my last 1/2 marathon, August 2011 I could no longer take steps. My left leg fatigued and became numb during the race. It took me 30 minutes longer. I could only walk or jog slowly as I flung my left leg forward for each step. I finished the 13.1 miles.
