I am 44 years old with 2 teenage daughters. First had symptoms in May 2005, tingling of the legs. By July the left side of my body went numb, starting at my legs and ascending to the side of my face. The doctor says probably stress. I didn't feel I was under stress. Off and on for the next year I had symptoms come and go. Numbness in different parts of my body. Then in October 2006 my left arm went paralyzed, from the elbow down I had now control. The doctor puts me in the hospital, for possible stroke. Gave me a heart test, stroke is a mind thing, sends me home with Klonipin (thank god that helped some) and nitroglycerin, hello the heart test was normal. Of course at this time my father was dying os OK stress. That is when I realized tge Klonpin was helping the tingling in my left hands and arm. But of course who cares if its helping. The doctor decides by the middle of 2007 it must be a mental problem and tries to give me antidepressants. LOL I immediately changed doctors and he asks Has anyone ever sent me to a NUro? From the middle of October to the first of November I had a diagnosis. Of course by now I have pain everyday, my sight went double at this time cannot drive, I work for a title company and manage money this is getting hard to do and of course my thought process is crazy. I have decided I am going crazy at times. I cry for no reason, forget anything you tell me and have trouble organizing anything. I am on my 5th dose of avonex so we will see. If I can get past flu like symptoms and my strength back I may get back to normanl.
