I am married to John who is a great caregiver. He is always there for me. Together, we have 14 grand children and 7 great grand children. We live in a small town on the Mississippi River in Andalusia, Ill. My friends had a fund raising benefit for me so that we could remodel our home to accomodate all the equipment that is needed for me to get around. I spend most of my time in bed or in my new recliner watching TV. I wish that I could go to the chat room to chat with all of you who John tells me about. You all sound like your great people. John tells me all about what is happening.

This is the American Idol Night bunch.  Traci, Laura, me and Lisa.
 
 This is me before this damn disease got hold of me.  I was a blackjack dealer on a riverboat casino in Bettendorf Iowa.  John was my supervisor and we fell in love at work.  I did make him wait almost 3 years before I went on our first date but I sure am glad that we made that connection.  The onset of ALS for me was that I started dropping cards and limping some.  It took almost 3 years for them to finally find out what was wrong and if I had had the choice, I would have chosen a different disease because I think this has to be the worst thing that can happen to anyone.  Worse than cancer or any of the other terrible things in this world.

These are my twin great grand daughters.  Jasmine and Joslyn on their second birthday.  They sure keep John busy when they come to visit and he loves them dearly and of course plays hard when they are here and lives on BENGAY the next day.
