I started feeling very ill when I was 21. I just knew something was wrong. I had a spinal tap that showed there was something going on. The neurologist told me at the time that they were not sure what autoimmune disease it was but that over time we would know as the symptoms would increase. They were right!!!!!! Over the years new tests would pop up positive and the symptoms started showing their ugly little heads! Today I am 33 and have been treated for SLE for many years! Another disease is starting to show its ugly little head at this point.......systemic vasculitis. Oh well, we have handled everything before this point and will handle everything after it!

I have started a month long dose of prednisone. It seems I am having inflammation in my joints, muscles and lungs. We are also starting to test for systemic vasculitis. So, today there is lots of pain, fatigue and an overall feeling of not being well.
