I was an active kid. Went into geology, then switched to environmental law lobbying for environmental & health care groups. I loved both careers and both required high energy. FMS ended my work & obtained full SSA disability 2 years after symptoms began.

In 2 years I went from highly effective to insufficient energy to work, and worse, my mind could no longer follow negotiations. My hearing officer granted full disability after reading my fill, without a hearing and chastised the SSA for not granting earlier. (Complete records and doctors support critical.) I've now developed CFS, sleep 12-14 hours a day and energy levels continue to decrease. Opiods control FMS pain, help control depression, and help poor sleep but lots of frustration continues. What helps? Not getting stuck in a chair all day, moving around to extent I can without overdoing, natural full spectrum lights for awhile each day, and maintaining a few close friends or at least one activity that means interaction withnothers. Finally, practice until you find that line between doing and overdoing, and that's hard but very important for your best life.
