About Rotisgirl

I'm a married white woman in her early 40's who started having trouble in her mid to late 30's with generalized fatigue, pain. My pain was, initially, wide spread and has seemed to settle in my lower back knees, elbows, shoulders. I get horrible headaches. I was treated successfully with Cymbalta. I did not like the side effect associated. In addition I don't seem tolerate medications like "normal" people. I also have IBS mainly the constipation with occasional diarrhea.

More About Rotisgirl

Oh how I hate Fibromyalgia!  I've had it for as long as I can remember.  In the earlier days I just thought that "I was coming down with something" and it would pass.  Now I understand I was having flares.  Now--Dx definitive for almost four years.  I started out with pain in my hands with swelling. I went to my PCP who was stumped--my C-reactive protein was elevated yet I had no other sxs of RA. So he sent me to a rheumatologist.  By then I was so painful and sore I was having a difficult time working.  I did not miss a day of work though. She did tons of bloodwork.  Nothing really was positive so she started pushing on some tender points. That sent me through the roof.  She started me on cymbalta.  That really helped. However it has some side effects I don't enjoy so I am currently in a weaning off .  So that is where I am...now learning more about my disease so I can make better decisions.

Other than that I'm a normal person.  I'm married to a great guy who is very sympathetic.  He sees how it affects me.  We have three adult kids, a baby dog (he's OUR baby) and two cats.  We love racing--GO TONY STEWART and we watch the winged sprint cars.
